Week 6

Here is an image by an artist named Teun van der Zalm. He studied in the Netherlands where he specialized in animation. He has developed new ways of using digital particles; with particle properties and other properties he can control millions of points in 3D space. He uses physics and algorithms to create his natural looking art. This is image is very pretty, sort of angelic looking.

WEEK 6

The artist I found interesting this week is Nina Koelman who is from Germany.  After school she studies Business Administration for traffic and tourism.  She worked in the tourism industry for about 20 years before realizing and pursuing her love and talent of art.

In the 1980’s she taught herself art and mainly used a felt pen to create her pictures until 2009.  She then discovered the endless possibilities that were available to her on computers. All of her creations from then on were created mainly on computers.  She creates her pieces with abstract pictures that have a multitude of colors, forms and designs.  I like the way her pictures have somewhat of a 3D look about them.

Week 5

Here is an image by an artist named Gregoire Meyer from London. This digital image looks like a splash of water shaped into a face. I think it looks pretty cool and creative. He uses dramatics lights and shadows to create the illusion of a real object. I don't know the exact software he used to create this image; I even searched the web to get more information on him, but found nothing.

FRACTAL ART

Week 5 artist

Jacqueline Okuhara an artist based in Ontario, Canada.  She has a practical and formal academic background in Art.  She studied art history and other art material in Europe and Canada.  The art work she creates is primarily done with computer imaging.  she draws and paints using filters, masks and fill.  The inspirations of her art comes from her personal life experiences as well as her personal preferences.

As well as creating digital art, she specializes in textiles and jewelry making which she has taught in college for many years before pursuing her own artistic desires.  She has many images but, I found the Voodoo Mama series to be the one I really liked the best.

week four artist

Susan Williams is an experimental artist that has some very interesting pieces.  I loved the masks she created.  The way she has added eyes to them gives the picture a more realistic look.  Then she makes it a bit abstract by adding other symbols is also nice and interesting.  Susan refers to her pictures as "Symbolic Imagery".

Susan Williams got her inspiration for her masks in Mexico where she works and lives some of the year.  She uses her computer as her paint brush to achieve her end results.  The computer has helped her to get simple abstractions into more real looking works of art or as she calls her pictures "New Realities."

week 3

Here is what I attempted to do for week three.  Not sure what went wrong.  I followed step by step but, not sure if Photoshop elements buttons are the same as the version in the instruction video.  Will continue to try it again over the weekend after I do week 4.  Sorry.  not sure why the pictures come over smaller than they are when I am creating them.

Week 3

Angel Estevez's  art work is amazing.  He was born in Spain and moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He is an educator in Brazil and an enthusiast of the arts.  Angel is a self taught digital artist who works primarily with abstract art using two types of software.  One being Bryce and the other Photoshop. Some of his art work is made using both Bryce and Photoshop while, he makes some of his designs using only Photoshop.
I can definitely see myself just sitting and day dreaming at his designs. The colors are bright and vibrant but, at the same time a bit relaxing.

Week 3

I came across images by an artist named Paul Redfern. I thought the images were pretty cool and unusual. He creates his images using only IMac, a digital camera, and Adobe Photoshop. He gives the illusion that his work is created on a surface because it appears there is surface texture when in fact it's not. His images are interesting because it is not easy to understand what's going on in the image immediately. It takes more than a few second look. That is what attracted me to his work; after a few second glance at one of his images I still did not get it.
